A week before the party, assign each guest the name of another guest (perhaps through a drawing). Guests must each purchase and bring to the party a toy along with a note explaining why they think their intended recipient would have loved this toy as a child. There are many opportunities to make the choice and the note amusing or touching.

At the party, give each guest the opportunity to read the note and present the toy to his/her recipient. After giving everyone a few minutes to admire and “play” with the toys, collect them all for donation to the children of Sunday Friends.

You may wish to pass out brochures or other materials provided by Sunday Friends so your guests will understand the destination and value of their contributions. Or, ask Sunday Friends to contribute child-made gifts or awards that you can give out as you choose.
