Tashiya was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and immigrated to the United States at the age of 12. Having experienced the short and long term challenges of immigrating to the United States, Tashiya wants to use her multi-faceted skills to listen and work towards empowering families to break the generational cycle of poverty.
