Program Team

Tia originally arrived at Sunday Friends as a volunteer and later became a volunteer leader. She progressed through roles as Education Assistant, Operations & Engagement Manager, and presently serves as Community Health Manager. Tia has interned with CommUniverCity as a student coordinator and with the San José State University Wellness Center as a Health Educator to conduct presentations and tabling events on topics of Plant Power and Body Image. She was also the Health Communications Managing Editor for It'sFecth, a digital platform that connects women to health information and provides a safe space for women to openly discuss women's health and learn from one another. Tia holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with minors in Nutrition & Food Science and Child & Adolescent Development, Master of Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Promotion, and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®).
